Description:

Mekong Delta region is vividly green, peacefully charming and local people are hospitable. The best way to touch the soul of the land and its people is by traveling slowly, at our own pace and wish.

We recommend an exploration on bike, an enriching discovery out of the beaten tourist trails. It is not necessary that traveler must be well-trained cyclists as the cycling distance is at their decision. Tell us how much you want to cycle, we will find the best part of shady, flat roads with diversified landscape to offer. Supporting vehicle is escorting along.

Traveling by buses, bikes, local boats and ferries, multiple stops for a drink, tropical fruits and picnic-lunch, and visiting lesser known towns...Mekong Delta is never as exotic as one can imagine.

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh – Ben Tre – Tra Vinh

Leave Ho Chi Minh City in the morning by a coach transfer to Mekong Delta. After about 2 hours, we arrive at Ben Tre, a small province that has recently stepped out to become a rewarding destination in its own means. Famed for its fruit orchards and coconut groves, Ben Tre is also nicknamed “the land of coconut”

Unload the bike and start cycling on small village lanes in the direction of Tra Vinh. We cycle under the shade of coconut canopy, trading “Hello” to local kids, farmers. Call by a local shop for refreshment, enjoying some drink and fruit. The Mekong Delta is at our rhythm, especially when we catch small ferry to cross the river.

Arrive at Tra Vinh in the afternoon. Check-in at hotel.
Accommodation in Tra Vinh.

Cycling: From 40 to 100km depending on capacity (supporting vehicle traveling along). Recommended distance: 50km.

Day 2: Tra Vinh – Tra On – Can Tho

After breakfast at hotel, we take a warm up ride to explore Tra Vinh Town.

Tra Vinh is very visible with Khmer heritage. Khmer civilization flourished in Tra Vinh and throughout the Mekong Delta in the 11th and 12th centuries, reaching out from the Angkorian capital - the ruins of which are located at Siem Reap. Khmer culture has survived in the Mekong Delta since that time.

Continue cycling toward Can Tho by passing Tieu Can, Cau Ke and Tra On district. Today, the trails lead us through some classic delta scenery – vivid green rice paddies, backed by coconut and water palms. The section between Cau Ke and Tra On offers good insight to all type of tropical fruits as we sneak through plentiful orchards.

Cross the ferry in Tra On. The vehicle takes us to Can Tho. Check-in at hotel.
