Description:

Discover one of Indonesia’s most remote Islands.
You will visit Waikabubak, a traditional market, and Tarung and Wetabar, two traditional villages. There are some authentic, hidden villages like Montedao that will be visited.
Lai Tarung is an old, deserted village.

There will be a trek through rice fields and the forest, and then you reach the Lai Popu waterfall.

Day 1: Bali – Tambolaka – Lamboya

Upon arrival at Tambolaka Airport - West Sumba, our representative will meet and transfer you directly to your hotel.

On the way, you will visit Waikabubak to see their traditional market, and also visit 2 traditional villages of Tarung and Wetabar.

Afterward drive to Lamboya to check in at hotel.

Day 2: Half day trekking

The best introduction to Sumba culture and traditions, you will experience Sumbanese hospitality. Trek up to the top of surrounding hills and discovers very authentic megalithic hidden villages: Montedao, Kahale, and Tokahale villages.
All these villages are still very original, all the houses with thatched roof looks like the middle age. Visit into the house and interact with the inhabitants.

Return to the hotel for late lunch.
Rest of the day is free at leisure to enjoy the beach or swimming at the pool.

Day 3: Full day: Anakalang tour

This tour will take you to the biggest royal megalithic tomb in Sumba, at Pasunga – Galubakul - Matatakeri villages.
The very old village of Lai Tarung is now deserted but this is the only place you can witness the tone carved pillars of an antique house. Nowadays, pillars are made from wood and they are not always carved.

Lunch box will be provided en-route.

Day 4: Full day: Wanokaka

Trek through the rice field and enter the forest.
Meet the birds, monkeys, butterflies and if you are lucky you will spot the endemic species: White Parrots and a particular hen which bury its eggs.

Cross several bamboo ‘monkey’ bridge before you reach the large scenic Lai Popu waterfall. Swim in the clear refreshing water and enjoy the nature before you drive back to hotel.

Lunch box will be provided en-route.

Day 5: Lamboya – Tambolaka - Departure

Drive non-stop for 2 hours to the airport, to catch your departure flight.
