Day 1: Kuala Namu airport – Tangkahan

Upon arrival at Kuala Namu airport, we welcome you before proceeding to Tangkahan a drive of about 4 hours crossing the main road passing several small villages with countryside landscape of rubber and oil palm plantations line.

Arrive at Tangkahan, crossing a small river by cable and pulley driven by dugout canoe to reach a simple jungle lodge for check in.

Day 2: Tangkahan – Bukit Lawang

Morning trekking through the Leuser National Park, the journey to Bukit lawang Gunung Leuser National Park, one of the largest national parks in the world containing over 800,000 ha of virgin rainforest.

The journey leads past scenic rubber and palms plantations, and small villages, near Bukit Lawang we hike into the forest giving an up-close view of incredible scenery with various tropical plants including a tangle of enormous trees, twisting lianas, palms, ferns, and wonderful flowers.

The trek leads to the feeding ground where you will have the opportunity to admire the magnificent orangutans in the wild.

Late in the afternoon, we arrive in Bukit Lawang, if the time permit, enjoy a short walk to the river side or crossing the river on a hanging cable plank bridge to the neighborhood resort.

Day 3: Bukit Lawang – Medan

Bukit Lawang is at the entrance to Gunung Leuser National Park and is one of the last sanctuaries of the Sumatran orangutan.

Start your trekking early at 08:00 around 3 hours trekking with 2 – 3 spot visit (Briefing will be conduct before trekking start, good physical condition, hiking shoes require)

After observing orangutans for 30 minutes then continue down to the Bohorok River, where you will use a tube to drift back to the hotel approximately 45 minutes. Through the rainforest with possible observation to park’s primates; long tailed Macaque, Thomas’s Leaf Monkey and White-handed.

Gibbon & semi wild Orangutans and floral life including a tangle of enormous trees, twisting lianas, palms, ferns and wonderful flowers on the path heading to the Lodge prepared for checking out.

Drive back to Medan through the same vast rubber and oil palm plantation to Binjai then directly proceed to Medan Airport to catch the flight to your onward destination.
