Description:

On the island of Sulawesi fare up in the mountain lays the small plateau, the home of the Toraja people.

Driving on to the plateau you immediately realize the difference between Toraja and other parts of Indonesia, even the houses looks different like they are upside down.

The hanging graves, ancient ceremonial burial places and huge cremation celebrations are just some of the unique tradition found only within the plateau.

Day 1: Makassar – Toraja

Upon arrival at Hasanuddin Airport of Makassar greets and meet by our guide who will then lead you to the car to continue the picturesque drive for about 8 hours to Toraja.

Lunch stop will be made at a seafood restaurant in Pare-pare.
Afterward precedes a scenic drive with photo-stop en-route at Puncak Lakawang to enjoy the spectacular view.

Late afternoon arrive in Rantepao then directly check in at the hotel.
Rest of the day is free at leisure.

Day 2: Toraja

Full day explore of the Toraja Highlands visiting Lemo to see the cliff displaying ancestral sculptures and the hanging graves.

Continue to Londa, which has an ancient ceremonial burial place.
Kete Kesu is a wonderful Toraja village where we see ‘Tongkonan’ houses and rice barns. It is famous for its woodcarving.

Day 3: Toraja

We set out on a trip to visit Bori to see Megalith stone and Traditional Toraja villages, on to Batutumonga enjoying superb views over Rantepao and surrounding valleys, possibility walk around.

Drive down visit Pallawa a village on a small hill with more ‘Tongkonan’ houses, rice barns and granaries.
In the afternoon visit Nanggala to see Toraja village before return back to your hotel

Day 4: Rantepao – Makassar – Departure

Early departure from Rantepao and transfer back to Makassar, via Pare Pare where lunch stop will also made.
Then we proceed directly to the airport for your flight back or drop-off to your hotel.
