Drive to the southwest of town, the Xuanwu district, which used to be Beijing's city centre over a 1000 years ago. Here you will discover on foot the diversity of Beijing's population.

A Buddhist temple, a mosque, a Taoist temple, the oldest pagoda in Beijing, and even a temple converted into an open air antique market!
